Tola + Ife: Washington, DC Maternity Session

Maternity is fast becoming one of the things I love to photograph the most. Something about the promise of what is to come, the profound happiness of my couples – it’s really just so much fun for me. Tola and Ife’s beautiful session was really lovely and sweet and I’m so happy to have gotten to photograph them.

The McKnight Sisters

How beautiful are these three sisters from Texas who I had the opportunity to photograph last fall in Washington, DC? I love when women celebrate themselves so getting to photograph three in one fell swoop is just the icing on the cake.

Francesca: Northern Virginia Portrait Session

Meet my friend of more than 20 (TWENTY!) years, Francesca. We’d talked and talked (and talked some more) about doing a session and we FINALLY get around to making it happen last fall in one of my favorite Northern Virginia parks. Funnily enough, it might be harder to photograph someone you really love because PRESSURE! Thankfully for me, this session was easy because my subject was easy. Oh, and this light? What I wouldn’t give to have that light every time I’m working.

Isaac: 1 Year-Old Portraits

Those dimples. Those curls. Those tiny little teeth. America – LET ME PHOTOGRAPH YOUR CHILDREN – I LOVE THEM!

Ellison B: Silver Spring, MD Newborn Session

I’ve been photographing Baby E since he was in utero and he is honestly just the cutest, sweetest baby you could imagine. Also, in case you were wondering, these photos do not do his new baby smell any justice :)

Robel + Erika: Northern VA Wedding

Can we talk just briefly about how beautiful it is when two cultures come together in such a rich and vibrant way? Robel + Erika’s day was really jam-packed from beginning to end but was so fun and so sweet. Heads up to all my brides – if the day allows, I’m definitely going to steal you away for some quiet portraits near the day’s end – like the ones you see featured later in this post. They are absolutely some of my very favorites!

Jason + Charlotte: Richmond, VA Engagement Session

This is a post where I tell you that my job is just as much about taking photos as it is about interacting with you, my clients. Both Jason and Charlotte would tell you that they’re not “picture taking people” which is why having an engagement session was so incredibly important! It’s important for you to see your photographer in action, to get to know their personality and vice-versa. And I promise you by the end of this session? Everyone was happy and smiling.

Yohanes + Sessily: Surrattsville Engagement Session

Yohanes are Sessily are high school sweethearts so these sweet and sentimental engagement photos taken in and around the place where they first fell in love are really so lovely. I always tell my couples to try to make an engagement session happen because I get to see how you interact as a couple and you get to see how I work as a photographer. It also helps to alleviate (SOME!) nerves on your actual day because being in front of my camera is old hat. Having said that, you can see how comfortable and fun these two are with one another and I’m so happy that let me be their photographer!

S + S: National Arboretum Children’s Portrait Session

S+S were the cutest sibling duo on this chilly fall day at The National Arboretum. Just looking at them and you can see a big brother, fiercely protective of his little sister and a little sister who adores her big brother. They were so sweet and full of energy and it was nice to just capture them being kids and having fun. Also, how amazing that their mom made that dress? LOVE!
